So because of timing/multitude of other reasons (credit history etc.), they moved into an apartment and left the house/mortgage in their name. We simply write them the check and they pay it from their checking. Redundancy aside, i have a VA home loan at my disposal, and i was aiming that by getting our other finances in order and improving our credit report “appearance” up for whichever bank we fiance through, that we will get a better rate if we wait a little.

Now this will change soon (eta ~ 3/4 months at the earliest). But this is not a change they’re pressuring on, and we aren’t either. The house is solidly ours, as my in laws are pretty stellar people. So no fear of losing that, they just want the best situation for us a well. Anyone have advice on this aspect?
